We're not going to lie, we do know a thing or two about sex toys: whether it's butt plugs and couples' gadgets or luscious lubes and sensual essential oils. But nothing could have prepared us for the news that Frank Ocean, purveyor of yearning bisexual bops, had launched his own cock ring – and that the price tag comes in at a whopping 25,000 dollars (£20,700).

Given that celebrity sex toys are basically the new celebrity perfume, Ocean has joined a range of notable figures like Demi Lovato, Cara Delevingne and Lily Allen by getting in on the sexual wellness game. The item in question is sold via the musician's luxury brand, Homer, which launched in 2021. Listed as the XXXL H-Bone Ring, it's made from 18-karat yellow gold: so it's basically perfect for anyone with a Midas fetish, if those people exist.

Most exciting of all? On 7 August, Ocean launched the item via an NSFW post on the Homer official Instagram. Yep, right there on the grid (and also shared to Ocean's IG Story) is a naked pic, with some v artful blurring might we add, of the cock ring being modelled. The image is accredited to "frank 'PACO' ocean" in the caption – but we're not so sure that it's Ocean in the image itself, since a model is used in other imagery from the drop. Whatever the case, it's the artiest dick pic we've ever seen.

The unusual item forms part of a new drop that includes key rings, pendants and earrings, priced at between 1,365 and 5,695 dollars. In case you weren't already in the know, a cock ring is a type of sex toy designed to make erections harder and last longer. Mostly, they're quite inexpensive, although some vibrating versions are more spendy, but in this instance Ocean has elevated the accessory to work of art status.

We're big fans of this new chapter in Ocean's career. After all, he's spent the time since his last album solidifying his reputation as a multi-hyphenate: whether it's signing up to direct an A24 movie or interviewing an LSD expert. Sex toys doesn't seem like too much of a wild step, tbh.

Ocean's fans, on the other hand? Not so convinced. Plenty of them took to Twitter to make their shock known and the memes are priceless. From fans imagining proposing to their girlfriend with the luxurious sex toy to visceral reactions to the fact that there is still no new album on the horizon, social media was ablaze over the weekend.
