Hiya, chronically online scrollers! Welcome back to TikTok Decoder, woo’s weekly breakdown of trends, sounds and creators brought to you by senior writer Darshita Goyal <3 Fresh off the slate: Twitch is everywhere, tankinis are in (and out) and Cara Delevingne loves house music. Buckle in!

new slang: what’s up, brother

A cross-platform reference, let’s go! Sketch, a popular Twitch streamer, is best known for (his gaming and) saying what’s up brother with one finger raised. It is exactly as random as it sounds, a trademark move if you will. Last week, TikToker @IAmDonVincent challenged women to try saying this to their male partners. Of course, most people who posted stitches had boyfriends who knew exactly what was going on and joined in. If you hear people say “Tuesday, Tuesday” with a strange hand action, same game!

sound that’s everywhere: Cara loves house music

The internet has a special talent for bringing things out of the ether, like this ancient sound from Cara Delevingne. Turns out, she was an anchor on the non-stop pop radio station on GTA V (!) and said, “It’s about time you fell in love with something that will love you back. And that, my friends, is house music. It doesn’t judge you and I won’t either.” No context, just vibes on vibes: no doubt it’s trending on TikTok.
